Benton County Tourism is proud to announce the upcoming Tennessee River Pearl Festival June 13-15, 2008.

"Celebrating the natural wonders of Benton County Tennessee," the committee chose the name for the festival to tout their very own tourism attractions - Benton County itself, which includes the warm southern hospitality of the residents, the Benton-Houston Ferry, Kentucky Lake, the Scenic Overlook, food, fun, fellowship and music from within the county and the Tennessee River Freshwater Pearl Museum, Farm and Tour. The freshwater pearl is the official gem for the State of Tennessee (enacted 1979), while the farm itself is the official site of pearl culturing for the State of Tennessee (enacted 2003). The attraction sees in excess of 300,000 visitors annually and holds a top-25 position in "Tennessee's Most Visited Attractions" published by the Tennessee Dept. of Tourism. Click here to learn more about The Tennessee River Freshwater Pearl Museum, Farm and Tour.

The county-wide event is a host to several sub events including a kid's fishing rodeo, Cabelas Catfish Tournament, antique tractor and engine show, classic car show featuring hot rods, muscle cars, a downtown Camden parade, motorcycle "run," and countywide scavenger hunt that runs throughout the county, a street dance with plenty of local food, vendors and even a gospel music jubilee at NBF State Park and much more. Special appearances throughout the event include Miss Tennessee 2007 Grace Gore, World Champion Duck Caller Mike McLemore, West Tennessee Outdoor's Rob Sommerville, and PBS Reading Ranger "Rocky T.", McGruff and Smokey the Bear.
